Let me take you on a journey through trees and my feelings of rootlessness. I have grown up in many different countries and houses, creating memories all over the world, but never in a place that others call home. This has left me feeling never rooted, never settled, like many others who seek a nurturing soil to grow their unique roots. What appeases me is the majestic nature that surrounds us as if watching over us and the stability I feel when surrounded by trees, imagining their roots deep below.

I wanted to bring this closer to us, to our everyday, and that’s where the project started: surrounding ourselves with trees in their most simple form. The drawing focuses on the bark, the trunk and the branches, the core parts of the tree. The transparency of the glass lets the light through and projects shadows on the walls, changing with the light like trees with the seasons. I try to convey feelings of security, strength and energy through an exploration of the bare and original tree. Giving every home and every human in the world the possibility to feel grounded, rooted, centered. The energy of trees.
