How Commissions Work
Starting your Bespoke Painting
🌳 Choose Your Tree - Maybe you have a tree that reminds you of a special place, a home or loved one? Or perhaps there is a type of tree that you like, such as pines or birch trees? You might also be inspired by the designs you’ve seen on my online shop. Start exploring your tree memories and your surroundings!
📏 Choose Your Size - Have a think about the size you’re after. Where will you hang the painting? Do you want the piece to dominate the space, or fit on a side wall? Do you want a diptych or even a triptych? Start envisioning and measuring your space! Glass paintings can be as big as you want.
💳 Budget - Prices for bespoke commissions range from £250 to £1700 depending on the size of the piece.
The Creative Process
✏️ First Sketches - Once you’ve shared the details of what you’re looking for with me, I’ll send you several sketches of your tree design. If you send me a photo of the space you want to hang this piece, I’ll make sketches directly to scale and “in situ” to show you how it will occupy the space and help you decide on size & format.
🏗Customisation - We’ll then discuss the different frame colours to choose from and the choice of glass or high quality plexiglass. I’ll share the quote with you at this stage too.
🔎 Detailed Design - Based on the sketch you liked, I’ll produce a couple of more detailed black and white designs. Once we’ve agreed on a composition, I’ll need a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure your commission.
🖼 Creation & Production - I’ll then get to work on creating your piece of art in my London studio. I’ll send you photo updates along the way! My turnaround for the creation is typically between 4-6 weeks, but it can vary depending on the piece, my workload, or your urgency (in case you need to gift it on a special day).
What about Delivery?
Once I’ve completed your tree artwork, I’ll send you images and hopefully, you will love it! I’ll then need the final payment before sending it off.
