Meet Henriëlle Van Den Dragt, Designer and Founder of Woodtique, a Wood Art Brand

“Going back to your roots really makes you more powerful. I really believe that with all my heart. If you’re in doubt of anything and feel wriggly in your life, just go back to your roots. Find out where you come from, why you are the way you are, why you love things, explore all the things you always took for granted. That’s where your power is.”

Meet Henriëlle, Dutch designer and founder of Woodtique, an art brand that sells geometrical wall art creations made out of leftover and waste wood from furniture makers.

In this episode of Nature Connections, Henriëlle shares with us how she transitioned from a career in banking to creating art with wood and her own hands, and living a life close to the woods. She talks to us about how it feels to work with wood and what she loves about this natural material. We also learn about all the wood waste that results from furniture making and how she wants to raise awareness of this with Woodtique and her wood art. Henriëlle also shares with us how being in touch with nature has transformed her and how powerful it feels to go back to her roots.

Listen to this interview episode to discover more about Henriëlle, her wood art and Woodtique, and learn from her experience being connected to wood as a material and living a life close to the woodlands and her roots. You can then head to www.woodtique.nl or @woodtique to explore the beautiful designs that Henriëlle makes out of waste wood.
